NetEnt's timeless slot is now on OKBazze. Join Gonzalo Pizarro as stone blocks crash down – and watch the multiplier climb with every Avalanche.
🏛️ On the Road to El Dorado – Avalanche in Motion
When NetEnt launched Gonzo's Quest in 2013, it changed the online slots landscape forever. The reason was simple – it was the first mainstream slot where the reels don't spin; instead, symbols fall from above. That Avalanche mechanic is now standard across the industry, yet the appeal of the original game hasn't faded one bit. OKBazzeYou can play this legendary game here with absolutely no hassle.
The game's backstory is compelling. 16th-century Spanish explorer Gonzalo Pizarro sets out in search of El Dorado, the legendary city of gold. Match the mysterious symbols carved into Aztec stone walls to unlock extraordinary rewards. Five reels, three symbols per reel, and twenty paylines to win on.
The Avalanche mechanic works like this: once a winning combination lands, those symbols shatter and new ones fall from above. If another win forms, they shatter again — and fresh symbols drop in. This cycle keeps going until no new win appears. With each consecutive Avalanche, the multiplier steps up, so a single good spin with several Avalanches in a row can multiply your winnings rapidly.
OKBazzePlaying Gonzo's Quest here is more than just spinning a slot – it's a complete experience. The visuals still hold up beautifully, with the Amazon jungle in the background, a mystical soundtrack, and Gonzo's animations all coming together to create an atmosphere unlike any other. It's also an ideal starting point for those new to casino slots, as the rules are straightforward and you can learn for free in demo mode.
This medium-to-high volatility game doesn't pay out big wins often, but when it does, the rewards are well worth it. During the Free Falls round, the multiplier can climb up to 15x — and with a strong Avalanche chain at that point, truly massive wins become possible. OKBazzeThe minimum bet on this game is kept very low, so you can start playing regardless of your budget.
The Wild symbol can substitute for any regular symbol to complete a winning combination. Landing Scatters activates Free Falls.

Why This Game Has Stayed Popular for Over a Decade
Instead of spinning, symbols fall from above. When winning symbols are cleared, new ones drop in to take their place – giving you multiple chances to win from a single spin.
The multiplier increases with each successive Avalanche: 1x → 2x → 3x → 5x. It resets back to 1x with every new spin.
Landing three or more Scatters triggers 10 Free Spins, with the multiplier going up to a maximum of 15x during this round.
The Wild Stone substitutes for any regular symbol to help form winning lines, but does not substitute for the Scatter.
When Gonzo wins, he dances with joy; when he loses, he hangs his head. That small animation gives the game a personality that still feels unique to this day.
The game runs beautifully on smartphones. On OKBazze's mobile interface, all buttons are large, clear, and easy to use with one hand.
The multiplier increases in separate stages for the base game and Free Falls round
Gonzo's Quest is very much a patience game. Most big wins come during the Free Falls round, especially when the 15x multiplier kicks in on the third or fourth Avalanche. The strategy, then, is to keep betting and wait for the Free Falls to trigger.
